On
the first day of spring in 1884, the Mayor of Hotham, Robert Langford held a
housewarming party to celebrate the completion of his new home, Milton Hall,
on the corner of Curran and Dryburgh Streets in North Melbourne. The party had to be moved to the Hotham
Town Hall after he invited 180 guests.
Who was Robert Langford? Why did he build Milton Hall? What is the house like inside? Find out the answers to
these questions and more at this event.

and academic, Professor Janet McCalman |
